Sam Maxwell (born March 22, 1991 in London ) is a British professional boxer.

Amateur career

By winning the English and British lightweight championships in 2011, he qualified for the national team. For this he started in April 2012 at the European Olympic qualification in Trabzon . He defeated Albert Selimow from Russia and Petru Apostol from Moldova before losing to Fatih Keleş from Turkey in the quarterfinals on points . Since the end of 2012 he boxed light welterweight . At the European Championships in Minsk in June 2013 , he beat Georgian Nyeki from Hungary and Vincenzo Mangiacapre from Italy, but was eliminated again in the quarter-finals against Armen Sakarjan from Russia. At the World Championships in October 2013 in Almaty , he was disqualified in the first fight against the Italian Dario Vangeli.

In 2014 he won the English light welterweight championships and the bronze medal at the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow . He was eliminated in the semifinals against the Scot Josh Taylor . In 2015 he won the Chemistry Cup in Germany.

Professional career

In October 2016 he played his first professional fight. On March 23, 2019, he won the WBO European title through TKO against the until then undefeated Sabri Sediri (10-0) and defended the title in November 2019 through TKO against the also undefeated Connor Parker (12-0).
