Samantha Tamania Anne Cecilia Mumba (born January 18, 1983 in Drumcondra , Dublin ) is an Irish actress , singer and model .

biography

Was born Samantha Mumba 1983 Dublin as the daughter of an Irish Aer Lingus - stewardess and an aviation technician from Zambia . She spent her school days at the Billie Barry Stage School in Dublin.

In 1998, she was the lead role in The Hot Mikado cast , a jazz -Interpretation of Gilbert and Sullivan opera. Mumba made her debut in 2000 and has since grown from a teen to an international star. With her hit Gotta Tell You and the album of the same name, she reached high positions in the music charts in 2001 not only in her home country Ireland, but also worldwide and achieved several silver and gold awards with her releases . Her hits and albums have received multiple awards. She also works as a photo model and has worked in reality shows as well as in Hollywood productions.

In March 2007, the comparison of Samantha Mumbas with a monkey , which was broadcast on the Scottish radio by the incumbent "Miss Scotland " Nicola McLean, caused a stir. McLean apologized several times and cleared up that this statement had a racist meaning, as it was initially assumed. In 2008 she took part in the third season of the British figure skating show Dancing on Ice . Mumba's National Ambassador of UNICEF for Ireland. She lives with her husband in Los Angeles and gave birth to their first daughter in the spring of 2015.
