The Duck Commander 500 is one of two races held in the NASCAR Sprint Cup at Texas Motor Speedway in Fort Worth , Texas . The race took place for the first time in 1997. Until 2007 all races held were won by another driver. There were no multiple winners. It's been the longest time without multiple winners in NASCAR. In 2007 that streak was broken when Jeff Burton won the race.

In 1998 the race was without sponsor and was simply called "Texas 500". The second race that the Sprint Cup holds annually on the Texas Motor Speedway is the AAA Texas 500 , which has only been driven since 2005 and has always been a Chase for the Sprint Cup race ever since .
