Samsung Kies

Samsung Kies is an older software from the South Korean company Samsung that enables data exchange between mobile devices and PCs with Windows (XP, Vista, 7) or Mac OS X. Samsung Kies is suitable for mobile devices up to Android version 4. From Android OS 4.3, Samsung provides version Kies 3.

With the release of the Samsung Galaxy S6 with Android version 5, Smart Switch Mobile was introduced, which is technically based on Kies and is called by some as the successor to Kies, but on the change of users from devices of the competition and older Samsung mobile devices to newer ones Samsung mobile devices. Options for real user support such as backing up notes from the S Memo app preinstalled by Samsung and personal settings on the PC are not available in Smart Switch Mobile . The user is therefore not offered by Samsung to store his private data on his own PC instead of z. Use and successor

The Kies 3 version is available for smartphones / tablets from Android OS 4.3 . Devices that work with Android 4.2.2 or older must use Kies 2 . All Samsung devices that ship with Android 5.0.2 or higher do not support Kies and can only use the new Samsung Smart Switch software. Unlike Kies, this software can not only synchronize with the PC, but also synchronize smartphones with each other as well as the well-known firmware updates. All Samsung devices running at least Android 4.0 can use Smart Switch .
