history
The current cities and municipalities were formed by law in 1972. Shortly afterwards, the interim councils of these cities and municipalities had to give their approval to the draft of the main statute of the integrated municipality, otherwise a (unit) municipality Lüchow would have emerged. On November 1, 2006, within the framework of the law to strengthen local self-government in the Lüchow-Dannenberg district , the integrated community was merged with the integrated community of Clenze to form the new integrated community of Lüchow (Wendland).
