Samuel Kiplimo Kosgei (born January 20, 1986 ) is a Kenyan long-distance runner who specializes in road running.

Life

In 2008 he finished sixth in the World's Best 10K and second in the Reims à toutes jambes half marathon competition .

The following year he was fourth in the World's Best 10K, second in the Berlin Half Marathon and, as a pacemaker, accompanied Haile Gebrselassie in the Berlin Marathon up to the 30 km mark, where both were recorded with the world best time of 1:27:49 h. However, the world record was awarded to Gebrselassie alone, as Kosgei did not reach the goal.

In 2010 Kosgei finished ninth in the Lisbon half marathon and then improved the world record over this distance by almost a minute in the 25 km from Berlin .
