San E (born January 23, 1985 in Bupyeong District , Incheon ; real name: Jung San ) is a South Korean rapper .

biography

San moved to Atlanta , United States , during his junior high school years . After graduation, he attended the University of Georgia . At the Korean Music Awards 2010 he won the category "Best Hip-Hop Song" with his song Rap Genius and was then signed by the South Korean music label JYP Entertainment . In September 2010 the EP Everybody Ready? . His debut single was Tasty San with Miss A's Min . In 2011 he was part of the benefit project Stand Up, Japan! . The proceeds from the single went to the victims of the Tōhoku earthquake in 2011 . Then the single Please Don't Go was released together with Outsider and Changmin from 2AM . Another single, I Want You to Be Unhappy , was released in November .

In 2013, San E left his record label JYP and switched to Brand New Music . In August of the same year, the music video Story of Someone I Know , a collaboration with Nara from Hello Venus, was released . He reached number 1 on the South Korean Gaon Charts , having previously only had a number of top 50 hits. In the same year the second EP 'Not' Based on the True Story was released .

Another number one hit followed in 2014 with A Midsummer Night's Sweetnes . This time Raina from After School was represented as a guest . This was followed by the next number one placement with Body Language (feat. Bumkey ). The debut album The Boy Who Cried Wolf followed on April 27, 2015 .
