San Pedro de Quemes is a town in the Potosí Department in the South American Andean state of Bolivia .
Location in the vicinity
San Pedro de Quemes is the central place of the district ( Bolivian : Municipio ) San Pedro de Quemes in the province of Nor Lípez . The village is located at an altitude of 3685 m on the western edge of the Bolivian Altiplano on a southwest branch of the Salar de Uyuni salt lake .

San Pedro de Quemes is located on the Bolivian plateau between the Andes mountain ranges of the Cordillera Occidental in the west and the Cordillera de Lípez in the southeast. The region's climate is typical of the time of day , with the mean temperature fluctuation during the day being more pronounced than during the course of the seasons.

The Ruta 5 passes the cities of Aiquile , Sucre , Betanzos and Potosí. From Potosí, the road continues to the southwest via Ticatica , Pulacayo and Uyuni to San Pedro de Quemes and on to Chile towards Antofagasta .
