The Sandberg is 481 m above sea level. NHN high mountain in the Steigerwald . It is located in the eastern part of the Kitzingen district in Lower Franconia .
Geographical location
The Sandberg is slightly higher than the neighboring mountain ranges such as Roßberg (477 m), Schießberg (455 m) or Eulenberg (404 m). The mountain is in the municipality of Castell . To the north of the mountain is the place Wüstenfelden , on the western slope of the Reichertsbrunnen .
Wind power
The construction of wind turbines was controversially discussed on the Sandkopf and rejected by parts of the population with regard to nature and landscape protection as well as nagative effects on tourism .
