The Curly Swallow ( Glareola lactea ) is a bird from the subfamily of the Curly Swallow- like (Glareolidae).
It occurs in Afghanistan , Pakistan , India , Sri Lanka , Bangladesh and China , south via Myanmar to Thailand , Laos and Cambodia and as a rare guest in the Arabian Gulf and in Oman .
The habitat includes large rivers and rivers and exposed sandbanks , rocky islands and gravel banks up to 1,800 meters above sea level .

The tarragon swallow is 15–19 cm tall and weighs 37–44 g. The wingspan is 42–48 cm. The top is pale sand-colored gray, the forehead brown, the reins black. The rump and base of the tail are white with a black end band . The tail is slightly split. In flight you can see a white mirror on the wings of the hand and blackish wings .

The male's call is described as a hoarse, indistinct and short “chirrrt”.
Way of life
The diet consists of beetles , termites , flies including two-winged birds and beaked peckers . The bird is crepuscular and hunts in large flocks .
The breeding season is between February and April in India and Sri Lanka, between March in Pakistan and April to May in Laos.
Danger
The fallow swallow is not considered to be endangered ( Least Concern ).
