Sanderlei Parrela ( Sanderlei Claro Parrela ); (Born October 7, 1974 in Santos ) is a former Brazilian athlete whose specialty was the 400-meter run .

Parrela took part in two Olympic Games. In 1996 in Atlanta he reached the quarter-finals, in 2000 in Sydney he finished fourth in 45.01 seconds.

His greatest success was winning the silver medal at the 1999 World Cup in Seville, when he only had to admit defeat to the world record running Michael Johnson and set the current South America record (March 2010) with 44.29 seconds.

At the Pan American Games in Winnipeg in 1999 , he won the silver medal behind the team from Jamaica (2nd place ) with the current South American record (as of March 2010) of 2: 58.56 minutes together with Eronilde de Araújo , Cleverson da Silva and Claudinei da Silva : 57.97 min).

Parella won five titles at the South American Athletics Championships over 400 m (1995, 1997, 2001) and with the 4 x 400 meter relay (1995, 1997) and a silver medal in 2005 as an individual starter. At the Ibero-American Championships he was victorious in the individual discipline in 1996 and 2000.

Parrela is 1.94 m tall and weighed 77 kg at competition times. In 2009 he ended his career.
