Sandra Corveloni (* 1965 in São Paulo ) is a Brazilian actress .

Life

Corveloni grew up in humble circumstances and studied at the Pontifícia Universidade Católica de São Paulo (PUC-SP). In her home country she is best known as a theater actress. She has been a member of Eduardo Tolentino's theater group Grupo Tapa since 1998 , where she has acted in numerous plays, including works by well-known writers such as Jorge Andrade ( Rasto Atrás ), Millôr Fernandes ( Órfãos de Jânio ), Oduvaldo Vianna Filho ( Moço em Estado de Sítio ), Nélson Rodrigues ( Vestido de Noiva ) and George Bernard Shaw ( Major Barbara ). She also worked as an assistant director for Tolentino.

In José Roberto Torero's short film Amor! Corveloni made her debut in front of the camera in 1994, which was followed by another appearance in Sung Sfai's short film Flores Ímpares (1996). Her breakthrough as an actress paved the Brazilian with her first feature film Linha de Passe (2008) by Walter Salles and Daniela Thomas , which premiered at the 61st Cannes Film Festival . In the drama she is seen as a single mother of four adolescent sons who earns a living as a cleaning lady in São Paulo and is again expecting a child from an unknown father.

The part of Cleuza earned Corveloni praise from the critics in Cannes and at the final award ceremony she prevailed against her favorite actresses Arta Dobroshi ( Le Silence de Lorna ) and Martina Gusmán ( Leonera ) and won the award for best actress at the film festival . The directors Walter Salles and Daniela Thomas received the award on behalf of the 42-year-old actress. It was the second victory of a Brazilian actress since Fernanda Torres ( Eu Sei Que Vou Te Amar ) was awarded the prize in 1986. Corveloni himself was unable to attend the award ceremony due to a miscarriage .

Corveloni is married and has a son born in 2002.
