The Sanitary Regiment 1 (SanRgt 1) is an association of the sanitary troops for the medical service support of missions for crisis management and conflict prevention, for national and alliance defense and for humanitarian aid as well as duties. The medical regiment 1 was created as part of the realignment of the Bundeswehr from the medical regiment 32 in Weißenfels and the hospital regiment 31 “Berlin”.

The medical regiment 1 maintains the medical service facilities at supply level Role 1 (general and emergency medical care) to Role 3 (deployment hospital - rescue station, rescue center and deployment hospital 72). The medical regiment 1 has over 1000 members. There are two troop locations. The regimental staff and parts of the medical regiment are housed in Weißenfels in the Saxony-Anhalt barracks . The First Sanitary Regiment Berlin (FüBer BER) and the training and simulation center are stationed in Berlin-Kladow in the Blücher barracks .

For medical regiment 1 it is planned to have 4 rescue stations, 2 rescue centers, 1 decontamination facility for the wounded and 1 emergency hospital with up to - 180 beds by the target structure in 2020. Both protected and unprotected all-terrain military ambulances are available for patient transport.

Supply and support companies

The First and Sixth Companies perform tasks in the supply and support for the regiment in the areas of command support, exploration, replenishment, transport and handling, material maintenance, medical supplies and sanitary hygiene. In addition, the First Company is responsible for looking after the medical officer candidates who are studying.

Ambulance companies
