The Sanitary Regiment 1 (SanRgt 1) is an association of the sanitary troops for the medical service support of missions for crisis management and conflict prevention, for national and alliance defense and for humanitarian aid as well as duties. For this purpose, the medical association is equipped with medical facilities based on containers and tents of supply levels 1 (first emergency medical care) to 3 (hospital).

history

The medical regiment 1 was created as part of the realignment of the Bundeswehr from the medical regiment 32 in Weißenfels and the hospital regiment 31 “Berlin”.

The medical regiment 1 maintains the medical service facilities at supply level Role 1 (general and emergency medical care) to Role 3 (deployment hospital - rescue station, rescue center and deployment hospital 72). It provides ground-based ambulance personnel as well as personnel for the airborne transport of the wounded, carries out the general basic training in the medical service, provides wounded decontamination equipment for worldwide use (VerwDekonEinr ww Eins) and looks after the district and district liaison commands (BVK and KVK) in the eastward federal states. The SanRgt also looks after 1 medical officer candidates in human medicine, dentistry and pharmacy / food chemistry during their studies at the universities in Halle, Magdeburg and Leipzig as well as trainees in the medical and nursing professions, paramedics, emergency paramedics, health / nurses, medical documentation assistants , Surgical assistants, medical-technical radiology assistants, medical-technical laboratory assistants, medical-technical assistants for functional diagnostics in Weißenfels, Quedlinburg, Halle, Naumburg, in a civil professional training and further education (ZAW) care center. It is a troop visiting center and a base for civil-military cooperation and medical services.

The medical regiment 1 has over 1000 members. There are two troop locations. The regimental staff and parts of the medical regiment are housed in Weißenfels in the Saxony-Anhalt barracks . The First Sanitary Regiment Berlin (FüBer BER) and the training and simulation center are stationed in Berlin-Kladow in the Blücher barracks .

For medical regiment 1 it is planned to have 4 rescue stations, 2 rescue centers, 1 decontamination facility for the wounded and 1 emergency hospital with up to - 180 beds by the target structure in 2020. Both protected and unprotected all-terrain military ambulances are available for patient transport.

Supply and support companies

The First and Sixth Companies perform tasks in the supply and support for the regiment in the areas of command support, exploration, replenishment, transport and handling, material maintenance, medical supplies and sanitary hygiene. In addition, the First Company is responsible for looking after the medical officer candidates who are studying.

Ambulance companies

The Second and Seventh Companies provide the ability to transport the sick, injured and wounded during the transport up to the first general and emergency medical care of the supply level Role 1 or the first general and emergency medical care of the supply level Role 1 (rescue stations) . ready and safe to take over at a medical facility of a higher level of care (role 2, 3 or 4).

Companies for the operation of medical facilities

Basic training company
