The Luftlandebrigade 1 ( LLBrig 1 ) "Saarland" is a brigade of the Army of the German Armed Forces that was set up on April 1, 2015. Its headquarters are in Saarlouis and subordinate troops in Lower Saxony , Rhineland-Palatinate and Saarland . It was created through the reclassification of Airborne Brigade 26 (LLBrig 26) and the incorporation of parts of Airborne Brigade 31 (LLBrig 31). The brigade bundles the forces of all paratroopers , airborne reconnaissance aircraft and airborne pioneers in the Bundeswehr.

Each of the paratrooper regiments is capable of parachuting with automatic round-cap parachutes, some of which are also capable of free-fall jumping in the MFF . The regiments as formations are divided into a 1st / staff and support company , 2nd / and 3rd / paratrooper command company , 4th / - 6th / paratrooper company, 7th / fire support company with heavy infantry weapons, 10th / supplementary troop unit with reservists and other logistic companies that are airborne.
history
From January to October 2018, the 7th and 8th MINUSMA contingent were mainly deployed by soldiers from Airborne Brigade 1, especially from Paratrooper Regiment 31, Airborne Reconnaissance Company 310 and Airborne Engineer Company 270 . During the same period, they provided a large part of the deployment contingents for training support in Iraq , Resolute Support , EUTM Mali and EUTM Somalia .
