Santa Barbara Machine Head was a short-lived blues rock band whose members later joined all known rock groups.

The band Santa Barbara Machine Head, founded in 1967, only recorded three instrumental pieces ( Porcupine Juice , Albert and Rubber Monkey ) for Immediate Records , which were published in 1968 on the blues sampler Blues Anytime Vol. 3: An Anthology of British Blues - there by mistake the name "Santa Barbera Machine Head" . Stylistically, the pieces can be ascribed to the electric blues.

Jon Lord later formed Deep Purple , Ron Wood played with the Jeff Beck Group , The Creation , the Faces and the Rolling Stones , Twink joined the Pretty Things , and Kim Gardner played with The Creation and Ashton, Gardner & Dyke .
