Kim Gardner
Kim Gardner (born January 27, 1948 in Dulwich (London) , † October 24, 2001 in Los Angeles ) was an English rock musician . He played bass in the bands The Birds , Santa Barbara Machine Head and The Creation , each with his friend Ron Wood (guitar), before joining the jazz rock trio Ashton in 1968 with Tony Ashton (keyboards, vocals) and Roy Dyke (drums) , Gardner & Dyke made.
After Ashton, Gardner & Dyke broke up in 1972, Gardner moved to Los Angeles. He performed with various bands and can be heard on numerous albums.
In 1982 he opened a pub in Laurel Canyon called "Cat and Fiddle", which two years later moved to Sunset Boulevard . "Cat and Fiddle" was a magnet for British rock musicians and Hollywood greats.
Kim Gardner died in 2001 at the age of 53.
