Volkmar Röhrig
Volkmar Röhrig (born September 1, 1952 in Lützen ) is a German writer and radio play author .
Life
After graduating from high school and completing basic military service with the NVA, Röhrig worked in various activities as a laborer at the theater and in a foundry. From 1973 to 1978 he studied German and cultural studies at the Karl Marx University in Leipzig and graduated with a diploma. As early as 1977, the radio of the GDR broadcast Röhrig's short radio play A Day Like a Whole Life as a prize-winning piece in the Keyword Snapshot competition and closer contacts to radio were established. From 1978 to 1981 Volkmar Röhrig worked as a full-time dramaturge and assistant director in the children's radio play division at the Berlin radio station Nalepastraße.
From 1981 to 1989 Volkmar Röhrig worked as a freelance author and co-editor of the culture almanac Leipziger Blätter . 1989 emigrated to the Federal Republic. From 1991 to 2015 Volkmar Röhrig ran the Leipzig PR and exhibition agency edition k . He has focused his literary work on children's and youth literature .
In November 2018, Volkmar Röhrig was honored with the Stern von Kitzingen - an award for having brought the World Press Photo exhibition to the Kitzingen town hall for twelve years . In addition, Röhrig has been editor and columnist of the city magazine Falter since 2012 .
Volkmar Röhrig is married and lives near Würzburg.
