Santa Clara is a town in Franklin County in the US state of New York . At the 2010 census, Santa Clara had 345 residents.
The Town of Santa Clara is located in the southwest of the county, southwest of the Village of Malone and within Adirondack Park . It includes the 58 lakes, ponds and ponds of the Saint Regis Canoe Area as well as the 19 km² Upper Saranac Lake .
history
The Town of Santa Clara was formed from part of the Town of Brandon in 1888 . Eight years later, Santa Clara was expanded to include another piece of land, which was divided off by Brandon.
William Rockefeller began buying land around 1896 to create a country estate that was used by members of his family during the summer months.

Santa Clara is the second largest town in Franklin County by area. In the south, the landscape is characterized by numerous lakes, of which Upper Saranac Lake, which is partly in Harrietstown , is the largest.
New York State Route 458 is a north-south blinding in Santa Clara. The New York State Route 30 crosses the south of the town area.
Santa Clara is drained mainly by the St. Regis River flowing west .

At the time of the United States Census 2000, Santa Clara was inhabited by 395 people. The population density was 0.9 people per km². There were 953 housing units at an average of 2.1 per km². The population of Santa Clara consisted of 96.20% of White , 0.25% Black or African American , 1.77% Native American , 0.25% Asian , 0% Pacific Islander , 0.76% said other races to belong and 0.76% named two or more races. 0% of the population declared to be Hispanic or Latinos of any race.
The residents of Santa Clara were distributed across 155 households out of which 31.6% had children under the age of 18. 63.2% of households were married, 9.0% had a female head of the household without a husband and 22.6% were not families. 20.0% of households were made up of individuals and someone lived in 8.4% of all households aged 65 years or older. The average household size was 2.55 and the average family size was 2.90.
The population was divided into 25.1% minors, 4.3% 18–24 year olds, 23.5% 25–44 year olds, 31.1% 45–64 year olds and 15.9% aged 65 and over or more. The median age was 43 years. For every 100 women there were 110.1 men. For every 100 women over the age of 18, there were 105.6 men.
