The Saint Regis River (other spelling: St. Regis River ; in Québec : Rivière Saint-Régis ) is a right tributary of the Saint Lawrence River in the US state of New York and in the Canadian province of Québec.

The Saint Regis River rises east of Lower Saint Regis Lake in the northwestern foothills of the Adirondack Mountains . It flows through the Lower Saint Regis Lake and continues its course north-northwest. The East Branch Saint Regis River flows into the river on the right. He now flows in a northwesterly direction, passing Santa Clara and at Waverly belonging Saint Francis Falls . At Winthrop , the West Branch Saint Regis River flows into the river on the left. The Saint Regis River now turns north and gradually turns northeast. In the town of Helena , which belongs to Brasher , the Saint Regis River takes up the water of the Deer River coming from the east . Further downstream is the village of Hogansburg , which belongs to Bombay, on the river bank. The river crosses the state border with Canada about half a kilometer before its mouth opposite the island of Île Saint-Régis in Lac Saint-François . Origin of name

The river was named after the Jesuit preacher Jean François Régis (1597-1640).
