Santiago González , full name Santiago Emiliano González Areco , (born June 11, 1992 in Montevideo ) is a Uruguayan football player .
Career
society
González took his first football steps at Huracán Belvedere in baby fútbol . He then played since the age of seven at River Plate Montevideo , where he was ordered at the age of 18 by coach Juan Ramón Carrasco in the first team playing in the Primera División. However, he did not make a debut in the first division there at the time.
The 1.73-meter-tall offensive player called "Bombón" had been in the squad of the then Uruguayan second division club Sud América at least since the Apertura of the 2011/12 season . During that season he played eleven league games (five goals) and two play-offs. In the following season he was used 18 times and contributed in the Clausura with four goals scored to the championship win in the Segunda División and the subsequent promotion to Uruguay's top division. There he completed 14 games in the Primera División during the 2013/14 season and scored five goals.
In February 2014, he moved to Montreal Impact in Canada . With the Canadians he was in nine games (no goal) of the MLS in the 2014 season . In 2014 he won the 2014 Canadian Championship with the team . He also played two games in the Amway Canadian Championship and six games in the MLS Reserve League .
At Apertura 2014 he moved back to Uruguay on loan to the reigning Uruguayan champions Danubio FC . In Apertua 2014 he was used by the Montevideans in eleven first division games (one goal) and two games (no goal) of the Copa Sudamericana 2014 . He then returned to Montreal Impact. From there, his career path led again to Sud América in mid-April 2015. Until he changed again in mid-July 2015 to the first division promoted Villa Teresa, there was no league appearance for him in the entire first half of the year. In Apertura 2015 he played eight top division games (no goal). At the end of February 2016, he joined the second division Huracán Football Club , for whom he played in twelve league games (no goal) in the 2016 Clausura. At the beginning of July 2016 he began working for the second division champions and first division promoted Rampla Juniors .
National team
González was a member of the Uruguayan U-15 team coached by Fabián Coito , which took part in the U-15 South American Championship in Brazil in 2007 and finished second behind the host country. He belonged to the U-17 team of Uruguay , coached by Roland Marcenaro , which took part in the U-17 South American Championship in Chile in 2009 and took 3rd place. He was also part of the squad for the 2009 U-17 World Cup in Nigeria . He was used twice in the World Cup tournament. He did not score a hit.
