Sarah-Judith Mettke (born November 13, 1981 in Forst (Lausitz) ) is a German director .

Life

Sarah-Judith Mettke grew up in Leipzig and graduated from high school there . She worked as a directing intern for various theater productions. She worked in Israel for a year .

From 2005 she studied directing / scenic film at the Baden-Württemberg Film Academy in Ludwigsburg . In 2012 she completed her studies with a diploma . Her graduation film Transpapa received a lot of attention. Alongside her studies, she worked for the UFA subsidiary UFA Cinema .

Sarah-Judith Mettke works as a freelance screenwriter and director in Berlin .

Awards

Sarah-Judith Mettke received the Caligari Film Prize for the short film Schlaraffenland . Her short film Schnitzeljagd received the jury award at the Leipzig short film festival Kurzsüchtig .

For her diploma film Transpapa , Mettke received the Prize of the Saarland Prime Minister at the Max Ophüls Prize film festival in 2012 . In addition, the film received the NDR Director's Prize at the Mecklenburg-Vorpommern Film Art Festival in 2012 and the prize of the jury of the German-language film critics in FIPRESCI .
