Sarah Dawn Maxwell (born April 30, 1977 in Baie-D'Urfé ) is a Canadian beach volleyball player .

Career

Maxwell completed her first international tournaments in 2001 with changing partners. In 2002 she played with Gabriele Jobst . The best placement in open tournaments was 17th place. Maxwell / Jobst also achieved this result at the Grand Slam in Klagenfurt .

At the last open tournament of the year in Vitória , Maxwell formed a new duo with Marie-Andrée Lessard , with whom she had already competed in a tournament in Fortaleza in 2001 . In 2003 Lessard / Maxwell achieved their best results at the Grand Slam in Berlin (17th place) and the Osaka Open (25th place). They achieved similar results at the end of 2004, when they also won the Challenger tournament in Cagliari . In 2005 they reached the top ten of an open tournament in Milan for the first time. At the subsequent World Cup in Berlin , after the opening win against Hu / Zhang , the bronze medalists Tian Jia / Wang Fei, who also came from China, were too strong for the Canadians, who, however, still made it into the third round on the losing side and after the defeat against the Swiss duo Kuhn / Schwer took 17th place. In front of their home crowd in Montreal , Lessard / Maxwell achieved the best Open result of their joint career with seventh place.

In 2006 they achieved their best international placement also in Montreal. The two Canadians finished ninth at the 2007 Espinho Open. The World Cup in Gstaad was less successful. Behind three teams with equal points, Lessard / Maxwell had to say goodbye with three defeats in the preliminary round. In 2008 they did not get past 25th place at the international tournaments. After the Grand Slam in Moscow, Maxwell ended her international career.

Private

Maxwell married the Australian beach volleyball player Natalie Cook in late 2008 . The couple live in Australia. Maxwell works there as a mental trainer with her company In the Game .
