Sarah Huffman (born March 5, 1984 in Danbury , Connecticut ) is a former American soccer player .
Career
Huffman began her career with W-League participant Washington Freedom , with whom she won the championship in 2007. The following year she played for the Norwegian first division club Røa IL , with whom she won the championship and cup double . For the inaugural season of the newly founded WPS , she returned to the Washington Freedom franchise and remained loyal to it even after the renaming as magicJack before the 2011 season . After the dissolution of the WPS before the 2012 season, she moved to the Pali Blues in the W-League.
In early 2013, Huffman was hired as a so-called free agent of the newly founded NWSL franchise of Western New York Flash . She made her league debut on May 24, 2013 against the Chicago Red Stars as a substitute. In April 2014, just before the start of the season, Huffman moved to league rivals and reigning champions Portland Thorns FC and finally ended her active career there in November 2014.
National team
Huffman went through the US Football Association's youth teams in the U-16, U-17, U-19, U-21 and U-23 age groups. At the U-19 World Cup in 2002 , she won the gold medal with the US team. In July 2010, Huffman completed their only game in the United States national team.
