Sarah Straube (born April 26, 2002 in Suhl ) is a German volleyball and beach volleyball player who has been playing for the Bundesliga team of Dresdner SC since 2019 .

Career

Indoor volleyball

In 2015, at the age of 13, Straube moved from VfB 91 Suhl to the VC Olympia Dresden youth center . She was trained by Andreas Renneberg at the Dresden volleyball base and became German junior champion in 2017, 2018 and 2019. From the 2018/19 season she played for the second Bundesliga team of VC Olympia Dresden, of which she became captain in 2019. In August 2019 she received a double play right, with which she also received for the Bundesliga team of the Dresdner SC . In one of her first Bundesliga games (against Suhl) she was awarded the gold MVP medal for the first time as the most valuable player in the winning team. In addition, she won the cup against Allianz MTV Stuttgart with the DSC . At the beginning of June 2020 she signed a professional contract with Dresdner SC for a term of three years.

Straube has also been playing beach volleyball for Dresdner SC since 2017. In 2017 she competed with Meghan Barthel at the German U18 championships (13th place) and in 2018 with Sina Stöckmann at the U17 national cup (9th place).
