Saupersdorf has been part of the town of Kirchberg in the Ore Mountains since 1997 .

Geographical location

Saupersdorf is located in the Rödelbach valley between Kirchberg and Hartmannsdorf near Kirchberg on the slope of the Hohen Forst ( Hartmannsdorfer Forst ).

history

The Waldhufendorf Saupersdorf was founded in the 13th century by the bailiffs of Plauen and was first mentioned in a document around 1453/56. Saupersdorf belonged to the offices of Zwickau (exclave) and Wiesenburg until 1843 and then to the office of Kirchberg. In 1856 Saupersdorf came to the Kirchberg court office and in 1875 to the Zwickau administration , whose successor is the Zwickau district . Various branches of the textile industry settled in Saupersdorf in the 19th century. Another branch of industry developed through the paving stone quarries in the village. On January 1, 1997, Saupersdorf was incorporated into Kirchberg.

Saupersdorf is located in the Rödelbachtal on the road from Kirchberg to Rothenkirchen . Since 1882 Saupersdorf had a connection to the narrow-gauge railway Wilkau-Haßlau-Carlsfeld in the direction of Kirchberg and Wilkau-Haßlau and a year later in the direction of Rothenkirchen. There were two train stations in the village with the names Saupersdorf unt. Bhf. (Formerly stone loading station Saupersdorf) and Saupersdorf ob. Bhf. (Formerly Hp. Saupersdorf). The first line was closed in 1967 on the Kirchberg-Saupersdorf section due to the poor track condition. The last passenger train went to Rothenkirchen in the spring of 1970.
