The Schafkopf in its current form as Bayerischer Schafkopf or Bayerisch Schafkopf is one of the most popular and widespread card games in Bavaria .

Surname

The name "Sauspiel" was based on a variant of the Schafkopf game. In a call game, a partner who has a card of the same suit without the corresponding ace in hand plays with the corresponding ace (also called "sow"). Since when finding a name for the Schafkopf community "Sauspiel.de", the aspect of playing together was to be emphasized, the name "Sauspiel" was chosen from the combination of this game variant.
