Savaş Koç (born March 23, 1963 in Ankara ) is a former Turkish soccer player who played for the top Turkish club Galatasaray Istanbul and was previously active in Germany for Türk Gücü Munich . He made his debut in the Turkish league in the 1986/87 season , when Koç won the Turkish championship with Galatasaray under German coach Jupp Derwall , the first in 14 years. In the following season 1987/88 , the championship was repeated under new coach Mustafa Denizli . In the 1988/89 season Savaş Koç reached the semi-finals with Galatasaray as the only Turkish team in the European Cup . After victories over Neuchâtel Xamax and AS Monaco , the team failed in the semi-finals at Steaua Bucharest (1: 1 and 1: 4).

In 1990 he made his debut in the Turkish national team when he took part in the qualifying matches for the 1990 World Cup in Italy.
