Scenarist is a professional authoring software for DVDs and Blu-rays and has been the worldwide de facto standard for data carrier productions in the film and music industry since 1995 . The current versions are Scenarist SD (for DVDs) as well as Scenarist BD Professional and Scenarist BD Professional Plus for BDs . In addition to DTS: X , the 3D surround sound format from DTS, Scenarist also supports Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD Master Audio up to 7.1 surround sound . In September 2015, Scenarist introduced support for Ultra HD Blu-rays at the International Broadcasting Convention in Amsterdam .
In contrast to many other authoring programs, Scenarist fully supports all possibilities of the DVD and BD-Video standards, which means that it can be assigned to the professional sector. The respective program suites include a. The Adobe Photoshop - plug-in Scenarist Designer PS with graphic templates for exporting HDMV graphics (High Definition Movie Mode, 8 bit Blu-ray standard 256-color) as well as BD-J graphics (24-bit True Color ) for the menu the BD. With Scenarist BD-J one is Eclipse platform for further Java -based creation of the graphical menu guidance provided. The actual audio and video content of the BD created with the Dolby Media Producer Suite for Dolby Audio, the DTS-HD Master Audio Suite for DTS audio or audio editors such as Adobe Audition and Pro Tools or video editing programs such as Adobe Premiere , Adobe After Effects , Avid Media Composer or Final Cut Pro are to be encoded, are imported using additional tools in the Blu-ray standard.
Industry-known alternatives to Scenarist BD are Sony's DoStudio Authoring and Blu-print .
Scenarist was developed up to version 2.7 by Daikin Industries and since 2001 by Sonic Solutions and has been managed by Rovi Corporation since the company was dissolved in 2010 . In September 2014, it was announced that Scenarist LLC , a newly formed entertainment technology company in Novato , California , had acquired the rights to the Hollywood standard Blu-ray Disc technologies and products.
