Schönanger is one of the seven districts of the municipality of Neuschönau ( Freyung-Grafenau district ) in the Bavarian Forest . Along with Grünbach and Neuschönau, it is one of the oldest districts in the community.
history
The community Schönanger caused by the Bavarian Gemeindeedikt was founded in 1818, the places included Neuschönau , Altschönau, Forstwald, Green Brook, Katzberg, Schönanger and wood houses. In 1978 St. Oswald and Schönanger were amalgamated to form an administrative community during the municipal reform . In 1980 the community of Schönanger became independent again.
On June 1, 1981, the community name "Schönanger" was changed to "Neuschönau".
The Schönanger volunteer fire brigade provides defensive fire protection and general help; To this end, it maintains a fire station with an associated garage and two emergency vehicles.
Sights - architectural monuments
Schönanger has one of the most beautiful villages in the Bavarian Forest . The St. Josef Chapel from 1847 is the oldest building in the Neuschönau community. The local chapel from 1847 and a small farmhouse from the 1840s were recognized by the Bavarian State Office for the Preservation of Monuments .
