Schönberg is a district of the town of Kronberg im Taunus in the Hochtaunus district in Hesse .

Schönberg is located 1.4 km northeast of Kronberg. County road 771 runs through the village, federal road 455 to the north, state road 3003 to the west and state road 3015 to the south.
history
The earliest settlement probably took place in the second half of the 12th century. The place was first mentioned in 1320. The first church was mentioned in 1371. There are no more documents from the former monastery today. The Catholic St. Albanus Church was built in 1766.
In 1954, the community of Schönberg was allowed to add the distinguishing feature "(Taunus)" to its name.
On April 1, 1972, the municipalities of Schönberg (Taunus), Kronberg / Taunus and Oberhöchstadt / Taunus merged on a voluntary basis to form the municipality of Kronberg / Taunus as part of the regional reform in Hesse .
education
There is a primary school in the village , the Viktoria School (named after Victoria Kaiserin Friedrich (1840–1901)), as well as a religious education study center of the Protestant Church in Hesse and Nassau (until October 2012).
