Schörgendorf is a place and a cadastral municipality of the municipality of Kapfenberg in the district of Bruck-Mürzzuschlag in Styria .
The village is located in the Laming Valley .
history
The earliest written document is from 1165/66 and reads "Schergendorf". The name goes back to the old high German skerio (head, manager).
At the turn of the year 1979/1980 there were a total of 260 building areas with 259,742 m² and 152 gardens on 277,717 m² in the cadastral community Schörgendorf , in 1989/1990 there were 267 building areas. In 1999/2000 the number of building areas had grown to 679 and in 2009/2010 there were 347 buildings on 760 building areas.
Land use
The cadastral community is characterized by agriculture and forestry. 175 hectares were used for agriculture at the turn of the year 1979/1980 and 309 hectares were forest areas. In 1999/2000 agriculture was carried out on 153 hectares and 335 hectares were designated as areas used for forestry. At the end of 2018, 104 hectares were used as agricultural land and forestry was carried out on 337 hectares. The average soil climate number of Schörgendorf is 20.7 (as of 2010).
