Schlaggraben is a scattered settlement and a cadastral community of the municipality of Breitenau am Hochlantsch in the Bruck-Mürzzuschlag district in Styria .

The Schlaggraben is a valley west of St. Jakob with numerous individual layers, whereby the centrally located village of Schlager has to be passed when approaching .

Settlement development

At the turn of the year 1979/1980 there were a total of 64 building areas with 55,198 m² and 36 gardens on 34,947 m² in the cadastral community Schlaggraben , in 1989/1990 there were 74 building areas. In 1999/2000 the number of building areas had grown to 174 and in 2009/2010 there were 123 buildings on 172 building areas.

Land use

The cadastral community is characterized by agriculture and forestry. 350 hectares were used for agriculture at the turn of the year 1979/1980 and 1,156 hectares were forest areas. In 1999/2000 agriculture was carried out on 256 hectares and 1,286 hectares were designated as areas used for forestry. At the end of 2018, 212 hectares were used as agricultural land and forestry was carried out on 1,281 hectares. The average soil climate number of Schlaggraben is 10.4 (as of 2010).
