Schattenberg is a cadastral municipality in the municipality of Tragöß-Sankt Katharein in the Bruck-Mürzzuschlag district in Styria .
The cadastral community lies west of the Lamingtal and extends to the Hiaslegg . Opposite is the cadastral community of Sonnberg .
Settlement development
At the turn of the year 1979/1980 there were a total of 302 building areas with 61,438 m² and 98 gardens on 63,110 m² in the cadastral community of Schattenberg , in 1989/1990 there were 313 building areas. In 1999/2000 the number of building areas had grown to 426 and in 2009/2010 there were 256 buildings on 506 building areas.
Land use
The cadastral community is shaped by forestry. 390 hectares were used for agriculture at the turn of the year 1979/1980 and 3,214 hectares were forest areas. In 1999/2000 agriculture was carried out on 346 hectares and 3,625 hectares were designated as areas used for forestry. At the end of 2018, 291 hectares were used as agricultural land and forestry was carried out on 4,447 hectares. The average soil climate of Schattenberg is 22.1 (as of 2010).
