From August 6 to 15, 2014, the VCP's federal camp took place here with over 4500 participants. These included almost 500 international guests from over 20 different nations. On Sunday, August 10, a storm warning from the DWD led to the precautionary evacuation of the tent camp; the participants spent the night on Monday in the surrounding schools and community centers. Furthermore, a marble run was built as part of the program , which exceeds the current world record with a length of 1.9 km.

The summer camp of the Evangelisches Jugendwerk Heilbronn has been held annually on the campground since 1978. Thus, this free time is the longest and regularly taking place on the tent sites of the Boy Scout Center.

geology

On the high plateau of the Schachens, on which the storage area is also located, there are sinkholes with a diameter of up to ten meters. The sinkholes are a typical feature of the limestone mountains of the central Swabian Alb. They are also found in the neighboring forest areas of the Schachens.
