Schachten (Neualbenreuth)

Schachten is a district of the market Neualbenreuth in the Upper Palatinate district of Tirschenreuth . The village lies between Wernersreuth and Neualbenreuth at an altitude of 533 meters and has about 45 inhabitants. It has been around since the 14th century. Like the surrounding villages Hardeck , Altmugl, Maiersreuth, Ottengrün , Querenbach and Hatzenreuth as well as Altalbenreuth (Mytina) and Gosel, which are now in the Czech Republic, it belonged to the Neualbenreuther Frais (dialect Fraisch).

In shafts there is a bell tower and a village pond with a fountain and fish. Many hiking trails lead to the surrounding villages. There is a small chapel from the post-war period.
