The Wildhauser Schafberg ( Swiss German Wildhuser Schofberg ) is a mountain in the upper Toggenburg and belongs to the Alpstein . It is located southeast of the Säntis and lies on the ground of the former municipality of Wildhaus , since 2010 the political municipality of Wildhaus-Alt St. Johann . With a height of 2373 m , it is one of the larger mountains in this region and is the third highest peak in the Alpstein. It is reached by a white-red-white hiking path, where the pre-peak in a saddle are abgeklettert through a steep gully must (cable). The Wildhauser Schafberg is the landmark of Obertoggenburg, as it is the only mountain that can be seen from the entire valley floor. The view extends over the Rätikon , the Silvretta , the Bündner Alps , the Glarus Alps and the Rigi .
