Schaghticoke is a village in Rensselaer County , New York in the USA . At the 2010 census, the village had 592 inhabitants.
The Village of Schaghticoke is located in the Town of Schaghticoke near the eastern border of the town, but west of the Village of Valley Falls .
history
The Village, formerly known as Hart's case was under this name in 1867 incorporated was, was re-founded in 1881 under the present name.

Schaghticoke is on the Hoosic River . The New York State Route 40 leads as Main Street in north-south direction through the village. Where this crosses the river, there is a dam that dams the river to generate electricity.
According to the information of the United States Census Bureau , the village has a total area of 2.3 km², of which 1.9 km² is land and 0.4 km² (= 18.89%) is water.

At the time of the United States Census 2000 , 676 people lived in Schaghticoke. The population density was 352.7 people per km ². There were 284 housing units at an average of 148.2 per km ².
