The Scharfenstein is 462.4 m above sea level. NHN high mountain spur of Eichberg-Süd ( 486.4 m ) in the Harz near Wernigerode in the Harz district in Saxony-Anhalt .
Geographical location
The Scharfenstein is located in the Harz / Saxony-Anhalt Nature Park on the eastern edge of the Upper Harz . It is located about 1.5 km south-south-west of Nöschenrode , a south-east part of Wernigerode . To the north one passes notch to Eichberg-south through east and is the Astberg ( 474.8 m ). To the west and south-west the spur falls into the Cold Valley and to the south and south-east into that of the Zillierbach .
The Scharfenstein cliff is located on and on the mountain .
hike
A path runs to Scharfenstein from the north from Eichberg-Süd. A narrow stone staircase leads from the southern end to the peak of the spur. From the vantage point there, the view in the Harz falls, among other things, to the Brocken . You hike back the same path because the spur terrain drops steeply on all sides with the exception of the north. The mountain is included as No. 34 in the system of stamping points of the Harz hiking pin.
