The Sharzhenga River ( Russian Шарженьга ) is a left tributary of the jug in the oblast Wologda in north-west Russia .
The Sharschenga has its source on the northern Russian ridge . It flows through the administrative districts of Nyuksenitsa , Babushkino and Nikolsk in a predominantly eastern direction. Finally, the Sharschenga flows 5 km southwest of Kurilowo into the north-flowing Jug, the right source river of the Northern Dvina .
The Sharschenga has a length of 183 km. It drains an area of 1500 km². It is mainly fed by the snowmelt . The spring flood will take place during the months of April and May. Further flood events are possible in summer and autumn. The mean discharge 6 km above the mouth is 12.5 m³ / s. At the end of October / November the river freezes. In the second half of April / beginning of May the river is ice-free again. The most important tributary of the Sharschenga is the Andanga from the right. The settlements Logdus , Pleschkino , Argunowo and Selenzowo lie along the river.
