action
The aspiring businessman Marc Paulke and his lively wife Katrin were actually a great team. But the two have been living separately for a year. While Katrin makes her way as an interpreter , Marc not only climbed the career ladder, but also got married again in the process. The lawyer Sandra Wullf is already preparing for a wedding with Marc's mother Elisabeth. Then Marc has to tell his future wife that his ex-wife does not want to divorce him.
While Marc has his hands full postponing the wedding date and appeasing the disappointed Sandra, he comes into grave distress: When his conservative boss Stollwang hires an interpreter for an important business negotiation, Marc hits the blow - of all things, his still-wife Katrin should stand by his side. Since the harmonious family life of his employees is part of Stollwang's company philosophy, Marc has to fear that the truth about his failed marriage will cost him the promotion to junior partner.
In his need, he asks Katrin to play model wife again for the duration of the collaboration. Although Marc dies a thousand deaths in this double game, he brings the negotiations to a close. A large part of the success is due to Katrin's account, who not only convinces everyone as a translator but also as a loving wife.
