Schinna is a part of the community of Stolzenau in the Lower Saxony district of Nienburg / Weser . The district is about 2 km north of Stolzenau, where state road 349, coming from Steyerberg , meets state road 351 - this runs from Liebenau to Stolzenau. The Weser flows east, also 2 km away.

Since the territorial reform that came into force on March 1, 1974, the previously independent municipality of Schinna has been one of nine districts of the unified municipality of Stolzenau. Sights include the St. Vitus Church and the Schinna Monastery .

The most important business enterprise is the Schinna gravel works . The volunteer fire department Schinna maintains a together with the volunteer firemen Anemolter Concert .
