Schlager einer Stadt is a music and reportage program that has been produced and broadcast by MDR since 2015 . The program is moderated by Mareile Höppner and Ross Antony .

Conception

The moderators explore in an entertaining way, individually or together, the special features of the city they are visiting, i.e. their hits. In between, pop music is played , mostly recorded at special locations in the city.

A similar format was already offered by GDR television with the series "Schlager einer kleine Stadt" (1964–1967) and "Schlager einer große Stadt" (1968–1971) moderated by Heinz Florian Oertel .

Broadcast sequence

From 2015 three episodes of the series were produced annually, the first broadcast of which took place on Fridays at 8:15 p.m. on MDR. Repetitions only ran in the MDR.
