Mareile Höppner (born May 12, 1977 in Hamburg ) is a German television presenter and journalist .

Life

Mareile Höppner is the daughter of a teacher couple and grew up in Lübeck . After graduating from the Johanneum in Lübeck , Mareile Höppner studied German and Protestant religion for teaching at the Christian Albrechts University in Kiel . When the professionally promising prospect of working in the traffic and weather department at Radio NORA presented itself , she finished her studies without taking the university final examination and soon afterwards became a reporter in the RTL Nord editorial team in Kiel. She was the weather presenter for Guten Abend RTL on RTL for two years before presenting the show as the main presenter in 2002. From 2004 to 2006 she hosted the grand finale of the first season of Verliebt in Berlin together with Michael Marx Newstime on ProSieben and in 2006 together with Jan Hahn . Then she headed Sat.1 from 2006 to 2007 Sat.1 at noon and from 2007 to 2008 Das Sat.1 magazine , the successor to the tabloid magazine Blitz . From 2009 to 2012 she hosted the MDR talk show Riverboat . Since 2008 she has moderated the tabloid magazine Brisant, broadcast in the first program of ARD , and since 2015 together with Ross Antony the MDR series Schlager einer Stadt . In 2019 she appeared on the game show Did you know? as an expert on the subject of Prince Harry .

Mareile Höppner currently lives in Berlin and Leipzig . In 2006 she married her long-time friend Arne Schönfeld, a product manager at Bosch . In November 2010 they became parents of a son. In October 2019, she announced that she had separated from her husband two years ago.

Mareile Höppner volunteers as an ambassador for the social organization SOS Children's Villages and is the official ambassador for the German José Carreras Leukemia Foundation .
