Schlatt is a village with 1,292 inhabitants in the district of Breisgau-Hochschwarzwald in Baden-Württemberg . The municipality of Schlatt, which was independent until January 1, 1973, is now part of the town of Bad Krozingen .
Agriculture with the cultivation of asparagus and strawberries as well as viticulture play an important role in working life.
geography
Schlatt is located in the Breisgau , six kilometers east of the Rhine , which forms the border with France , and about two kilometers northwest of the core area of Bad Krozingen. The federal motorway 5 runs three kilometers north of Schlatt.
history
The place was first mentioned in a document in 1130. In 1275 the parish church of St. Sebastian was built, which was enlarged in 1603. In the 13th century there was both a men's and a women's convent of the Order of Lazarus in the place .
