Hausen an der Möhlin (Alemannisch Hüüse ) is a district of the city of Bad Krozingen in the district of Breisgau-Hochschwarzwald in Baden-Württemberg . Hausen an der Möhlin has about 1600 inhabitants.

geography

Hausen an der Möhlin is located in Breisgau , about 15 kilometers southwest of Freiburg im Breisgau and about four kilometers east of the Rhine , which forms the border with France here. The Möhlin , a 32 km long tributary of the Rhine , flows on the western edge of the town. The Neumagen , a 26 km long tributary of the Möhlin, flows into the Möhlin between Biengen and Hausen on the Möhlin. The Tuniberg is about 2 km away .

history

A local nobility can be proven for the period from 1092 to approx. 1152. In 1147 the place was mentioned as Husen , in 1594 as Hausen . The church and Fronhof belong to the St. Trudpert Monastery for 1184 . From the end of the 14th century, Hausen belonged to the Upper Austrian Upper Office of Breisgau until it fell to the Grand Duchy of Baden in 1805 . From 1631 to the middle of the 19th century, the manor along with that of Oberrimsingen belonged to the Lords of Falkenstein . With the establishment of the Grand Duchy, Hausen first came to the Staufen district, then in 1964 to the Freiburg district and finally to the Breisgau-Hochschwarzwald district.

Attractions

The Baroque style St. John's Church, built from 1787 to 1789 on the foundations of a previous building mentioned for the first time in 1360 , was consecrated in 1791 . At this time the Möhlin flowed directly past the church, from which the patronage of John the Baptist arose. The church is on Falkensteiner Straße in the center of the village and is one of the few churches in Breisgau with an onion dome . The church with high altar and two side altars was renovated from 1995 to 2008. The organ dates from 1980.

The Johanneskirche was a branch of the Feldkirch parish church for a long time and has belonged to the pastoral care district of Bad Krozingen since 1990.

The school and town hall building next to the church now serves as the local administration and citizens' hall.
