The Schlaubetal hiking trail is a hiking trail in the Oder-Spree district of Brandenburg, around 80 km south-east of Berlin . The path is around 25 kilometers long and leads along the Schlaube upstream through the Schlaubetal and the nature park of the same name .

The starting point of the hiking trail is in Müllrose on the Großer Müllroser See . There are many sights along the way, mainly former mills that are closely linked to the history of the region. The end of the path is in the southern end of the Wirchensee , not far from the headwaters of the Schlaube. The trail can be walked in both directions. There are connections to local public transport at both ends.

In December 2017, the trail was repeatedly recognized by the German Hiking Association as "Quality Trail - Dream Tour of Wanderable Germany" .

Attractions

  • The Ragower Mühle , a water mill from the 16th century, has been preserved as a technical monument and can be visited on guided tours of the mill.
  • In earlier times copper was processed in the copper hammer , a mill from the 16th century. Today it is an inn.
  • The forester's house Siehdichum owes its name supposedly to a sign with the inscription "Look around!" With which caution was reminded in the adjacent swamp and moorland. Later the forester's house belonged to the Stasi , so the name also fits here. Today the house is a hotel, which is idyllically located between Hammersee and Kleiner Schinkensee . A 27 m high black walnut tree and other exotic trees bear witness to the work of chief forester Reuter at the end of the 19th century and can be viewed today.
  • The Kieselwitzer Mühle is a grinding mill from the 15th century that was converted into a restaurant in the 20th century. Today trout are raised in the former mill pond.
