Krastowitz Castle
Castle Krastowitz is derived from the 18th century, in the 19th century historicizing remodeled castle in the northeast of Klagenfurt .
history
The castle was built in the 18th century. The first known owners were the barons Mannsdorf and later Johann von Schoberg and his wife Maria Barbara von Kulmer. Your double coat of arms from 1714 was formerly on the north wall of the castle. The castle on the edge of the forest was probably built in the 17th century by a Kronberger and was then called Kronbergerhof. The only reminiscent of the extinct Krastowitzers, mentioned early in the Middle Ages, is a pointed arch gate in the sacristy of the St. Ulrichs chapel. In 1792 Baron Johann von Kaiserstein bought the Krastowitz estate from Count Karl Christallnigg . In the first half of the 19th century, Krastowitz was the preferred palace of the Kaiserstein. In Tentschach Castle , which also belongs to the family , people only lived in summer. In addition, they had properties in Kleinreideben , Steuerberg and a profitable Freihaus (tenement house) in Vienna. Johann von Kaiserstein and his wife Marie Elisabeth born. Freiin von Herbert (1764–1823) are buried in the crypt in Krastowitz. Under Baron von Reyer, Krastowitz was rebuilt in its current, historicizing form in the 19th century. In 1957 the castle came into the possession of the Carinthian Chamber of Agriculture and today houses the chamber's educational center. In 1964 a training building was added to the north.
