The Sächsisch Haugsdorf ( Polish: Dwór w Nawojowie Łużyckim ) is located in Nawojów Łużycki (German: Sächsisch Haugsdorf ) in the powiat Lubański in the Lower Silesian Voivodeship in Poland . It is located on the western bank of the Queis (Polish: Kwisa ) in the historic Upper Lusatia .

history

The history of Sächsisch Haugsdorf goes back to the 15th century when it was owned by the von Gersdorff family . In 1503 it became Laubaner Stadtgut, but fell to the royal chamber in 1547 as a result of the Upper Lusatian Pönfall , with which Nickel von Tschirnhaus became the owner. In 1570/1571 Christoph Friedrich von Tschirnhaus built a richly decorated two-winged mansion ("Schlösschen") in the Renaissance style . In 1626 the complex was partially destroyed by fire. In 1756, the 300 hectare estate, which was again owned by the town of Lauban, along with the castle and commercial ancillary businesses, was acquired by the Magdalen convent in Lauban and then built and rebuilt. At the end of the Second World War , as a result of which most of Silesia fell to Poland, the castle was badly damaged. The complex was not secured until 1958 and the east wing was converted into a church space from 1966 to 1968. However, the west wing continued to deteriorate.

Building

The building was decorated with sgraffito decorations. Remarkable are selected from the Renaissance derived double-storey arcades on Tuscan pillars on which arms of the Hochberg , Tschirnhaus , Kottwitz , Hermsdorf, Seydlitz , Konau, Reichenbach , Seherr , Ledlau, Tschammer and Nostic are attached.
