The Castle Unterdießen is in the 16th century on a Altmöränenzug above the town built castle complex in the Upper Bavarian community Unterdießen in the district of Landsberg am Lech .

The complex, located at today's Schlossberg 18, is a gable roof building with four corner towers and was the first fortress to be built by the Guelphs on the remains of a Roman refuge . After a fire in 1589, the Freybergers rebuilt the castle in its current form.

At the beginning of the 21st century, the castle was sold to an Augsburg resident, in need of renovation, and has since been thoroughly renovated and restored while preserving the historical building fabric. An organic gardening facility was built on the extensive grounds and properties belonging to the castle. The renovation of the partly dilapidated outbuildings and farm buildings began in 2010 and is currently (summer 2012) still in progress.
