The Schlossberg is a ridge about 1.5 kilometers long and 424.3 m high in the district of Frankenstein in the Middle Palatinate Forest in Rhineland-Palatinate , Germany , which - with a slight bend - runs roughly in an east-west direction. The B39 runs north of the Schlossberg, as does the Hochspeyerbach and the Mannheim – Saarbrücken railway line . To the south of it the Leinbachtal with the eponymous Leinbach .
The east side of the mountain slopes down into the valley of the Hochspeyerbach with a sandstone formation . On the northeast side of the Schlossberg lies Frankenstein Castle , which towers over the valley of the Hochspeyerbach . The 208 m long Schlossberg tunnel , built between 1845 and 1848, leads through the mountain beneath Frankenstein Castle . A short, flat lateral spur that from the east end of the comb to the south in the Leinbach drops valley, i.e. sweepers Berg .
The Schlossberg is completely forested . It can be reached on forest and forest paths.
